So not only did Rex Ryan beat the Patriots like he said his team would earlier in the week, but now the 49ers have filed tampering charges against the Jets. Rex Ryan would love to get a play maker at WR, and Michael Crabtree is still unsigned. Now, the 49ers 2-0 on the season have the stronger bargaining chip when dealing with Crabtree since maybe they don't really need him. However, the Jets maybe trying to acquire Crabtree spices up the scenario. And Rex Ryan didn't exactly back down from the claims:
"My understanding is they filed charges with the league. I'm saying my response is it's not true. I mean, it's not accurate. It's not true, but, hey, we'll let the league figure this out."
When asked Mike Singletary said he will "let the league figure this out."
Interesting stuff from first year head coach Rex Ryan. We'll see what develops from here. It'd be interesting if Singletary decides to counter Ryan on his remarks and what the NFL will rule.
